Orly Ahrony always knew that she would one day become an attorney. She graduated Magnum Cum Laude from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Psychology. During her undergraduate years, she volunteered for JusticeCorps a program that helps low income litigants fill out their legal paperwork involving various family matters and landlord/tenant issues at the Van Nuys Courthouse. Upon the completion of this program, she was hired as a JusticeCorps Coordinator and helped manage the interns who volunteered at the courthouse. During her senior year, Ahrony became the founding president of Phi Alpha Delta, a law fraternity triggered towards helping pre-law students have an early exposure to the law. As founding president, her chapter won “outstanding pre-law chapter” and “best community service award” during its first year.
In 2008, Ahrony was accepted into California Western School of law and received her law degree two and a half years later. During her freshman year, she interned as an investigative law clerk for the Inspector General of the National Science Foundation in Washington D.C. Ahrony’s passion for criminal law developed as she interned for the California Innocence Project, helping wrongfully convicted inmates during her last year of law school. It was at that moment, that Ahrony knew what her future would hold. The combination of her psychology and law degree gives Ahrony the ability to truly understand her clients and therefore better serve their needs.
Following law school, Ahrony decided to open up her own practice and immediately began obtaining favorable results for her clients. Ahrony has a 80% track record of receiving dates for her parole clients. Further, she was the first attorney to successfully receive a certification of rehabilitation granted in Marin County, San Francisco. Ahrony values her work and would go that extra mile for her clients to make sure that they get what they deserve Most recently, she had a client re-sentenced from first to second degree murder pursuant to People v. Chui.
