Dr. Crandall completed a B.A. at Harvard University, Magna Cum Laude. She attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco. Continuing her training, Dr. Crandall completed a residency in psychiatry at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center followed by a fellowship at the USC Institute of Psychiatry and Law. She has been in private clinical and forensic practice for 20 years. While trained in Western medicine, Dr. Crandall has experience with Eastern and alternative practices such as yoga, meditation and somatic experiencing. Between medical school and residency, Dr. Crandall worked as a researcher/reporter on medical and other topics for Newsweek Magazine. She continues to write freelance for various publications.
